A small shop that decided to be good at one make of appliance in one part of Florida, rather than adequate at everything everywhere.
Seagate Appliance Works has worked on Thermador built-ins in Ponte Vedra Beach since 2016. We are independent: no manufacturer sends us work, no manufacturer sets our rates, and nobody upstream decides whether a repair is worth doing. That last one is the point of the whole arrangement.
We take one make of appliance and no others. A shop that answers for eight brands carries eight sets of service literature, eight parts channels and eight sets of habits, and it learns each of them shallowly. Taking Thermador alone means the fault on the phone is usually one we have already stripped down twice, and the part is usually already on the van.
We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Thermador or its parent company. If your appliance is still inside its manufacturer warranty, call them first — anything we do could affect that coverage, and we would rather say so on the phone than after the invoice.
Why the geography is narrow
The service area is small on purpose. Appliances fail differently in different places, and the useful part of this job is knowing how they fail here. Within sight of the Atlantic, salt is the first suspect on a refrigeration or ventilation call and a mile inland it is not, which changes what we inspect before anything is opened. The housing stock changes over the same distance: older streets carry built-ins retrofitted into openings drawn for a previous generation of appliance, and newer ones do not. Both are ordinary jobs; they are just not the same job.
Staying close also means we see the same power events our customers do. This coast has had multi-day outages in living memory — Matthew in 2016, Irma in 2017, Helene in 2024 — and appliance controls take that damage quietly, sometimes surfacing weeks afterwards. A shop that works one county learns which failures cluster after a storm and asks about the timing on the phone rather than discovering it on the second visit.

How a job runs
- Call Describe what the appliance does now, and photograph the rating plate inside the door. Model and serial let us check the part before the van is loaded.
- Diagnose One flat fee, paid once, for finding out what is actually wrong rather than what the symptom suggests.
- Estimate In writing, before a part is ordered. If the repair is not worth doing we say so, and say why.
- Repair Genuine parts, and a warranty on both the part and the work of fitting it.
EPA Section 608 certified for sealed-system refrigerant work. That credential is federal and has nothing to do with any manufacturer — it is what allows a sealed refrigerant system to be opened legally.
What that covers
- Steam ovens A small boiler with an oven wrapped around it. Almost everything that goes wrong with one goes wrong at the water end first.
- Column refrigeration Freedom columns hold temperature well until the air around them stops moving. On this coast, that is where it starts.
- Ranges, rangetops and cooktops Gas burners that will not light, induction elements that drop out mid-boil, and the wiring behind both.
- Wall ovens and warming drawers Temperature that drifts, doors that stop sealing, and the self-clean cycle that takes the oven with it.
- Dishwashers Grit on the top rack, standing water in the sump, and a cycle that has quietly stretched from two hours to four.
- Hoods and ventilation Blowers that have lost half their airflow, and the damper at the end of the duct that nobody has looked at.
- Built-in coffee systems The most mechanical appliance in the kitchen and the one with the shortest tolerances. Most faults are in the brew unit, the grinder or the milk path.
